PPCT STAFF Instructor The PPCT Instructor Certification Seminars currently listed on the calendar indicate the seminar offerings for 2022 as of 11/9/21. More Instructor Certification Seminars will certainly be added, but since so much planning is involved in scheduling officers for training, I wanted to get the seminars listed as soon as possible. The offerings include the annual Instructor Certification Schools hosted by the Allegheny County Police Training Academy (ACPTA), located in Allison Park just north of the City of Pittsburgh. These seminars will begin at 0830 and will end no later than 1600 daily. Other seminar start times will be determined by the host agency. The TPR/Use of Force Instructor Re-certification hosted by Easton PD will start at 0800. With respect to additional seminars, it is recommended that officers contact Jack Leonard via email to determine the start time. Please use email to contact him with any other seminar-related questions ( jackstaffppct@comcast.net). Should you prefer to telephone, please use the land line, 412/766-4754. As usual, any officer attending a TPR/Use of Force Instructor Certification Seminar is required to bring handcuffs and key daily. If the officer is traveling a distance and staying overnight for the course, they should also have a duty belt or belt with holster and practice handgun. These items will be used during the week but not on the first day of training. A hi-liter is also recommended as most officers prefer highlighting the Instructor Manual as opposed to taking notes |
